Star Activities = The Kindergarten students are rewarded with a fun activity after a set amount of compliments from others around the school or amazing work days within the classroom. Ms. Tacke the kindergarten teacher and I collaborate to give the students extra fun activities. Many times I was offered opportunities to come teach a lesson or art.
This activity was centered around the Eric Carle book, The Mixed up Chameleon. First we read the story and laughed at all the different animals the chameleon changed into. Essential Question: Why do we all want to be something that we are not? Did it work? Remember "Always be Yourself!"
The students painted a plate the many colors the chameleon might change. After a cut-up chameleon plate was added to the top. Students could turn their chameleon and it would change.
