We are the world (the words of: We are the World” by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson)
I believe every child is a unique individual with potential to make a difference in the world. I teach to educate and to help students explore their whole self by providing a secure, caring and stimulating environment.
We are the children
My role as a teacher is to build trust, listen, observe, manage, and keep all students safe while ensuring learning for all. I teach to the skill level of each individual student. I incorporate student interests and background into the curriculum making learn relevant to their lives. I educate the whole child by incorporating family values, belief and traditions. I incorporate these values into the curriculum through projects, hands-on experiments, active play, center experiences, community projects, themes and group work.
We are the one who make a brighter day
My teaching philosophy is primarily grounded in the belief that adequate education is a major cornerstone in the development of individuals. As a Teacher, I am continually educating and challenging myself to learn. I believe passing the importance of education onto members of our society is important. Teaching allows me to educate members of society, pass on a love of learning, and make a difference in our world.
So let’s start giving
A few strengths I bring to teaching are my; organizational skills, an ability to be flexible, creativity, experience in multi-age classrooms and open-mindedness. I model and develop a friendly, and positive classroom by nurturing students learning with a cheerful, positive attitude. My mission as a teacher is to “Be fair to all and give students a strong, stable start in life by teaching to the whole child.”
There’s a choice we’re making
I am a lifelong learner and a positive role model to the students. I love that every day of teaching is unique and gives me opportunities to learn from my surroundings. I strive to make my school and community a better place for all. My goal as a teacher is to support the social, emotional, and academic needs of each student giving each student an opportunity to learn to their fullest potential.
We’re saving our own lives
As a teacher, I look at every day as an opportunity to experience the joy of making a difference in a child’s life, as I help mold their future as responsible citizens. I strive to be an effective teacher by creating a secure, caring, stimulating environment while communicating with students, staff, and parents. I continually reflect on my teaching strategies and make changes in my teaching to meet the needs of the students.
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Becoming a teacher is a huge responsibility with many obstacles, and I am willing to take on the challenge. I will be flexible, spontaneous, and trustworthy while maintaining complete confidentiality. I will treat all children equally, fairly and always maintain a professional manner, I will strive to teach students to be respectful, responsible and safe citizens.
Just you and me
Sincerely,
Sharlet Mullen
